This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction to the song that represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. This is “Tavo akys” (in English: “Your Eyes”) by a rock band – Katarsis.

Well, frist things first. Their music can be described as alternative rock.
This year’s Lithuanian entry was chosen both the public and jury. Katarsis won in both categories.
This year’s Lithuanian song was composed by Lukas Radzevičius (Katarsis’s member) and it’s sung in Lithuanian.
What’s the song about?
“Empty words only fuel the fire
The houses are burning
They start to collapse
From her eyes, the greatest downpour
The foundations of everything
Have already begun to rot
Your eyes see pain
For my eyes, it only gives a feeling
Your eyes see pain
For my eyes, it only gives a feeling”
All in all, I’d say this is a good song with great vocals.
As each juror ranked all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I assigned points in the same categories (eurovision.tv):
– composition and originality of the song, 8 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 8 out of 10.
So the total is: 36 out of 40 points that is 90%.
My question was: “Will Katarsis’s eyes lead them to victory?” To get the best result for Lithuania they would have to finish at least 5th the whole Contest (as the best result for Lithuania so far was the 6th place; it happened once: it was in 2006).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Katarsis! Congratulations, Lithuania! I assumed this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depended on the other entries as well. What do you think about that, Guys?
What did the bookmakers say about the Lithuanian entry? Well, at that moment (10th May 2025) it was in the 24th place (on eurovisionworld.com).
