The United Kingdom wins the ESC 2026. True or false? Stay with me to the very end of this text to find out if this is possible at all. And if you read the text till the end, youโll be able to hear my song โIโm Choosing a New Eraโ that I submitted to the Polish Preselection for the ESC 2026.
Hello, Guys!
This is your EurovisionaryVoice calling! Iโm Janusz Jacek Siwiorek JJS. I present my reactions here.
This time Iโm going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. This is โEins, Zwei, Dreiโ (in English: โOne, Two, Threeโ) by Look Mum No Computer (whose real nameโs Sam Battle).
Letโs watch the video:
Look Mum No Computer โ โEins, Zwei, Dreiโ (LIVE) โ the United Kingdom ๐ฌ๐ง | Eurovision 2026 | Reaction
Well, first things first.
The UKโs entry was chosen internally.
This yearโs British song was created by Julie Aagaard, Lasse Midtsian Nymann, Sam Battle and Thomas Stengaard. Itโs sung in English.
What genre is that? Itโs a an experimental electronic track with synthpunk and industrial influences, driven by raw DIY synth energy.
Whatโs the song about?
โSo sick of doing the whole 9 to 5
I pay my dues, I’m just stayin’ alive
And I’m so bored of it, bored of it
Oh, what’s the point of it, point of it?
โฆ
Ah, if only there was a language that I could count in
That would make me feel better, oh yah
Eins, zwei, drei
Darlin’, I need something salty
Eins, zwei, drei
With a slice of pepperoni
I’ll pay, you can owe me
That’ll be a pony
Eins, zwei, drei
I’m comin’ back to lifeโ
The song isnโt really a narrative songโit’s more about energy and rhythm than storytelling.
The repetitive German counting (โone, two, threeโ) works like a mechanical chant, giving it a hyโpnotic, almost industrial feel. The track captures a sense of chaotic motion and DIY experimentation, like machines coming alive or a system building intensity rather than expressing a clear lyrical message.
Sam Battle is an English musician, YouTuber and composer who posts videos about making pro audio gear and synthesizers, as well as original music tracks. He is known for making and playing unusual and eccentric electronic musical devices made from vintage technology.
A fun fact: Battle spent much of his childhood indoors experimenting with building projects, such as rockets and robots.
Vocal analysis:
The vocals in โEins, Zwei, Dreiโ by Look Mum No Computer are minimalistic and rhythmic rather than melodic.
Theyโre delivered in a chant-like, almost spoken style, focusing on timing and repetition instead of pitch variation. The tone is raw, slightly distorted, and mechanical, which blends with the industrial sound and reinforces the trackโs DIY, machine-driven energy.
Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first letโs ask a question: Is this song going to be successful in the Grand Final?
All in all, Iโd say this is a very good song with great vocals.
As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.com):
– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.
So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95%.
Will Samโs โOne, Two, Threeโ lead him to victory? Weโll see if he will get the best result for the UK. To do that he would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for the UK so far was the 1st place; it happened five times: it was in 1967, 1969, 1976, 1981 and 1997).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Sam! Congratulations, United Kingdom! I assume this song might be successful in the Grand Final because the UK doesnโt have to qualify for the Grand Final as the member of the so-called Big Five. What do you think, Guys?
What do the bookmakers say about the UKโs entry? Well, at this moment (18th April 2026) the United Kingdom is in 18th/35 place.
Letโs hear it for Sam and the whole team!
