Israel wins the ESC 2026. True or false? Stay with me to the very end of this text to find out if this is possible at all. And if you read the text till the end, youโ€™ll be able to hear my song โ€œIโ€™m Choosing a New Eraโ€ that I submitted to the Polish Preselection for the ESC 2026.

Hello, Guys!

This is your EurovisionaryVoice calling! Iโ€™m Janusz Jacek Siwiorek JJS. I present my reactions and comments here.

This time Iโ€™m going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. This is โ€œMichelleโ€ by Noam Bettan.

Letโ€™s watch the video:

Noam Bettan โ€“ โ€œMichelleโ€ (LIVE) โ€“ Israel ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ | Eurovision 2026 | Reaction

Well, first things first.

The Israeli entry was chosen both by the public and jury. Noam won in both categories.

This yearโ€™s Israeli song was created Nadav Aharoni, Noam Bettan himself, Tzlil Klifi and Yuval Raphael, who represented Israel in the ESC 2025. Itโ€™s sung in French, Hebrew and English.

What genre is that? Itโ€™s a contemporary pop song with a singer-songwriter, emotional ballad style.

Whatโ€™s the song about?

โ€œWalking down

Florentin

Ocean eyes

Memories

I, I’m losing my mind

An angel but is it hell

Trapped in your carousel

Round and round

Under your spell

Michelle

I’m letting you go, goodbye, my beautiful

I’m letting you go but I love you

The queen of problems

Michelle, Michelle, Michelle, Michelle

Aie-aie-aie-aie-aie-aie (oh-oh-oh-oh)

Aie-aie-aie-aie-aie-aie (oh-oh-oh-oh)โ€

โ€œMichelleโ€ is about love, loss, and longing for someone who is no longer there.

The lyrics tell the story of someone reflecting on a past relationship with Michelleโ€”remembering the connection, the emotions, and the moments they shared. Thereโ€™s a strong sense of heartbreak and nostalgia, as the singer struggles to let go.

At its core, itโ€™s about holding on to memories while trying to move forward, and the emotional difficulty of saying goodbye to someone who meant a lot.

Noam Bettan is an Israeli singer and songwriter. Bettan was born into a French Jewish family, his parents immigrated from Grenoble, France, to Israel with his two older brother. Noam is fluent in Hebrew, French and English.

A fun fact: Noam began his music career at the end of his military service in the Israel Defense Forces.

Vocal analysis:

Noam delivers a soft, intimate, and emotionally driven vocal, focusing more on storytelling than vocal acrobatics.

In the verses, his voice is gentle and slightly breathy, creating a very personal, almost confessional tone. The phrasing feels natural and conversational, which strengthens the emotional connection.

As the song develops, he adds more support and subtle intensity, but keeps everything controlled and understated. Thereโ€™s a nice balance between fragility and stability, especially in the mid-range.

In the chorus, the vocal opens up slightly with a warmer, fuller tone, but still avoids over-singing. Instead of big belts, he relies on emotion, dynamics, and sincerity to carry the moment.

All in all, Noamโ€™s vocals are soft, intimate that build gently, focusing on emotion and storytelling rather than power.

Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first letโ€™s ask a question: Is this song going to make it to the Grand Final?

All in all, Iโ€™d say this is a very good song with great vocals.

As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.com):

– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;

– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;

– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;

– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.

So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95%.

Will Noamโ€™s โ€œMichelleโ€ lead him to victory? Weโ€™ll see if he will get the best result for Israel. To do that he would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Israel so far was the 1st place; it happened four times: it was in 1978, 1979, 1998 and 2018).

In the end, I can only say: Well done, Noam! Congratulations, Israel! I assume this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. What do you think, Guys?

What do the bookmakers say about the Israeli entry? Well, at this moment (23rd April 2026) Israel is in 6th/35 place.

Letโ€™s hear it for Noam and the whole team!

I also prepared a quiz for you! You can find it below the video. Do you know the answer?
