This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction to the song that represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. This is “New Day Will Rise” by Yuval Raphael.

Well, frist things first.
This year’s Israeli representative was chosen both the public and jury. And then the song was chosen by a professional committee.
This year’s Israeli song was composed Keren Peles and it’s sung in English, French and Hebrew.
What’s the song about?
“New day will rise
Life will go on
Everyone cries
Don’t cry alone
Darkness will fade
All the pain will go by
But we will stay
Even if you say goodbye”
All in all, I’d say this is a good song with great vocals.
As each juror ranked all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I assigned points in the same categories (eurovision.tv):
– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.
So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95%.
My question was: “Will Yuval’s new day lead her to victory?” To get the best result for Israel she would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Israel so far was the 1st place; it happened four times: it was in 1978, 1979, 1998 and 2018).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Yuval! Congratulations, Israel! I assumed this song would qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depended on the other entries as well. What do you think, Guys?
What did the bookmakers say about the Israeli entry? Well, at that moment (10th May 2025) it was in the 4th place (on eurovisionworld.com).
