Moldova’s chosen its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which takes place in Malmö, Sweden. It’s Natalia Barbu, who’ll represent her country, which is taking part in the ESC for the 19th time.
The composition
The title of the song’s “In the Middle” and it was created by Khris Richards and Natalia Barbu herself. It’s sung in English.

The procedure
The ESC representative was chosen by the jury and the public. Natalia received the same amount of points as Valeria Pasha. Natalia won the jury voting while Valeria the public one. According to the Moldovan National Selection’s rules in case of a tie, the participant who scored more points from the jury wins. In this way Natalia became the 19th Moldovan representative at the Eurovision Song Contest.
What do we know about Natalia Barbu?
Natalia Barbu was born in 1979. She’s a singer and songwriter. Natalia also plays the violin. Her music is described as pop rock and gothic rock. Natalia’s already represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest; it was in 2007. She presented her song “Fight” finishing tenth in the Grand Final.

The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmö, Sweden on Tuesday, 7th May (the First Semi-final), Thursday, 9th May (the Second Semi-final) and Saturday, 11th May (the Grand Final) 2024.
