Portugal’s selected its entry for the 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which is held in Nice, France this year. It’s Júlia Machado, who’ll perform “Where I Belong”.
Procedure
Júlia became the Portuguese JESC 2023 representative having won the fourth edition of The Voice Kids.
“Where I Belong”
This song was created by Fernando Daniel, who was Júlia’s coach in The Voice Kids 2023 (Daniel won The Voice Portugal in 2016 and he was the finalist of the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017). “Where I Belong” was also created by Aurora Pinto, Twins and João Direitinho. Júlia explained that the song refers to her experiences with bullying in the school environment.
What do we know about Júlia?
Júlia is twelve years old and she lives in New Jersey, USA. In spite of living abroad, Júlia loves Portugal and visits her family every summer. In her free time she enjoys acting and singing. Júlia also likes surfing and cycling. When she grows up, Júlia would like to be a singer or a veterinarian.
