Portugal’s chosen its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which takes place in Malmö, Sweden. It’s Iolanda, who’ll represent her country, which is taking part in the ESC for the 55th time.
The composition
The title of the song’s “Grito” and it was created by Alberto Hernández and Iolanda Costa herself. It’s sung in Portuguese.

The procedure
The Portuguese entry was chosen by the jury and public. Iolanda won the jury voting and came second in the public voting.
What do we know about Iolanda?
Iolanda, whose full name’s Iolanda Costa, was born in 1994. She’s a Portuguese singer and songwriter. Her music’s described as a mixture of fado, pop and R&B.

The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmö, Sweden on Tuesday, 7th May (the First Semi-final), Thursday, 9th May (the Second Semi-final) and Saturday, 11th May (the Grand Final) 2024.
