Germany is to take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the third time. The winner of the online selection was Fia, who will perform in Nice, France her song “Ohne Worte” (Without words).

Procedure
Internet users from Germany, Austria and Switzerland could vote on the KiKA.de website from 8th to 17th September 2023. At the same time, the international jury, including ten music experts from several countries, voted.
There were five candidates to choose from with their songs. These were previously selected internally by NDR. All five young artists presented a minute of their song in the same setting.
The ranking by the audience voting had half of the influence on the final results, and the other half was made up of the points of the international jury. In case of a tie, the winner was decided by the public voting.
What do we know about Fia?
Fia was born in Shanghai and she lives with her family in Berlin. Her hobby is performing on stage. She sings and dances, but also loves climbing and swimming. Fia impresses not only with her singing, but also with her translation of song lyrics into sign language. Sign language will return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest after Viki Gabor’s performance at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Gliwice.
