Albania’s chosen its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which takes place in Malmö, Sweden. It’s Besa Kokëdhima, who’ll represent her country, which is taking part in the ESC for the 20th time.
The composition
The title of the song’s “Zemrën n’dorë” (Heart in Hand) and was created by Besa Kokëdhima herself, Kledi Bahiti and Rozana Radi. It’s sung in Albanian.

The procedure
The Albanian ESC representative was chosen by the public as a part of Festivali i Këngës. The jury decided the winner of the song festival itself.
What do we know about Besa Kokëdhima?
Besa Kokëdhima (also known as Besa) was born in 1986 in Fier, Albania. Besa’s been active in the music industry since 2003. She graduated from a music school (piano class), and then a secondary school in Great Britain. After that Besa returned to Albania, where she studied finance and continued her musical career.
Besa’s debut album was released in 2006, and a year later she participated in the Kënga Magjike Festival, where she won an award from music producers. In 2008, she finished in fourth place in Festivali i Këngës. In 2009, she took part in Romania’s ESC National Selection, in which she qualified for the semi-finals. Then in 2010 she participated in Festivali i Këngës again but she came only ninth. And after 13 years she took part in Festivali i Këngës for the third, victorious, time.
Eurovision Song Contest 2024
The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmö, Sweden on Tuesday, 7th May (the First Semi-final), Thursday, 9th May (the Second Semi-final) and Saturday, 11th May (the Grand Final) 2024.
