This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction to the song that will represent Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. This is “Baller” (In English “Shoot”, “Pop”) by Abor & Tynna who are Austrian of Hungarian origin.

Well, frist things first. Their music is pop, hip hop and electronic.
This year’s German entry was chosen both by the jury and public.
This German song was composed by a party of three inlcuding Abor & Tynna and it’s sung in German. It is the first song written entirely in German to represent the country since 2007.
What’s the song about?
“Ich ballalalalalalaler Löcher in die Nacht
Sterne fallalalalen und knallen auf mein Dach
Es tut noch bisschen weh, wenn ich dich wiederseh’, aber
Ich komm’ nie wieder, egal was du mir sagst”
“I shoot holes into the night
Stars fall and bang on my roof
It still hurts a little when I see you again, but
I’ll never come back, no matter what you say”
Is this going to be a massive hit? Hmm, why not?
All in all, I’d say this is a good song with good vocals.
As each juror ranked all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I assigned points in the same categories (eurovision.tv):
– composition and originality of the song, 8 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 8 out of 10.
So the total is: 36 out of 40 points that is 90%.
The question was: “Will Abor & Tynna’s Baller lead them to victory?” To get the best result for Germany they would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Germany so far was the 1st place; it happened twice: it was in 1982 and 2010).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Abor & Tynna! Congratulations, Germany! This song had to appear in the Grand Final because Germany belong to the so-called “Big Five”.
What did the bookmakers say about the German entry? Well, at that moment (9th May 2025) it was in the 20th place (on eurovisionworld.com).
