This time I’m going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. This is “Alice” by Veronica Fusaro.

Well, first things first.

The Swiss entry was chosen internally.

This year’s Swiss song was created by Charlie McClean and Veronica Fusaro herself. It’s sung in English.

What genre is that? Alternative pop / pop-rock (rocking ballad).

What’s the song about?

“I’ve been watching you

I know you really, really love me, don’t lie

Know you gotta, gotta give it some time

So honey, don’t cry

Honey, don’t cry

Alice

Don’t you be scared, be honest

I live in your head, oh, I’m lonely too

This world’s been so cruel

I’ve been here waiting for you”

The song is about losing yourself in a relationship and trying to find your way back. The narrator feels like she has become “Alice”. This symbolizes being lost in a strange, confusing emotional world. She gave too much of herself to someone else and now feels disconnected from who she really is. It’s about feeling lost in a relationship and trying to find yourself again.

Veronica Fusaro is a Swiss singer and songwriter.

A fun fact: Fusaro took part in the second season of The Voice of Switzerland, broadcast on the German-language channel SRF 1.

Veronica delivers a very controlled and emotional vocal performance.

Tone: warm, slightly husky and intimate;

Verses: soft and restrained → almost conversational, creating a vulnerable mood;

Build-up: gradual increase in intensity, but still controlled (no oversinging);

Chorus: fuller sound with more power, but still emotional rather than explosive;

Technique: clean, stable, good breath control, subtle dynamics;

Overall: focuses more on storytelling and emotion than vocal acrobatics.

All in all, vocals are controlled, emotional with a soft start and a gradual, powerful build.

Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first let’s ask a question: Is this song going to make it to the Grand Final?

All in all, I’d say this is a very good song with great vocals.

As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.com):

– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;

– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;

– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;

– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.

So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95%.

Will Veronica’s “Alice” lead her to victory? We’ll see if she will get the best result for Switzerland. To do that she would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Switzerland so far was the 1^st place; it happened thrice: it was in 1956, 1988 & 2024).

In the end, I can only say: Well done, Felicia! Congratulations, Switzerland! I assume this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. What do you think, Guys?

What do the bookmakers say about the Swiss entry? Well, at this moment (1^st April 2026) Switzerland is in 25^th/35 place.
