The design of the stage for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool was revealed on 2nd February 2023. Do you know what it looks like? Read to learn more.
The stage designer Julio Himede, who has worked on huge events, for example the GRAMMY Awards, has based this stage design on the principles of “togetherness, celebration and community”.
Julio Himede stated that:
“The architecture takes inspiration from a wide hug, opening its arms to Ukraine, the show’s performers and guests from across the world. I focused on the cultural aspects and similarities between Ukraine, the UK and specifically Liverpool. From music, dance and art to architecture and poetry.”
The designer also added that “[i]t is our duty as designers to enhance performances through a compelling visual landscape, while capturing the heart and soul of the Eurovision Song Contest.”
What do we know about Eurovision Song Contest 2023?
In May, 37 acts will perform on the Eurovision stage for millions of viewers. The first semi-final takes place 9th and the second semi-final on 11th May 2023. The Grand Final starts 13th May 2023.
