France’s chosen its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which takes place in Malmö, Sweden next year. It’s Slimane, who’ll represent his country with “Mon amour” (My Love).
The composition
The French ESC 2024 entry “Mon amour” was chosen internally and was released by the French broadcaster France 2 during the show 20h on Wednesday (8th November 2023) becoming the 1st ESC 2024 entry presented to the public.
The song was created by Meïr Salah, Yaacov Salah and Slimane Nebchi himself.
What do we know about Slimane?
Slimane, whose full name’s Slimane Nebchi, was born on 13 October 1989 in Chelles, Seine-et-Marne, France. He is of Algerian descent (Slimane’s grandparents migrated to Paris from Biskra and Ghazaouet).
Slimane won The Voice : La plus belle voix in 2016, he’s sold two million albums, has won five NRJ Music Awards, has got two billion worldwide streams and seven million followers on social media, and received a Victorie de la Musique Award in 2020.
Eurovision Song Contest 2024
The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmö, Sweden on Tuesday, 7th May (the First Semi-final), Thursday, 9th May (the Second Semi-final) and Saturday, 11th May (the Grand Final) 2024.
