This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction to the song that will represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. This is “Run with U” by Mamagama.

Well, frist things first.
This year’s Azerbaijani entry was chosen internally.
This year’s Azerbaijani song was composed by the party of three (including one band member) and it’s sung in English.
What’s the song about?
“No matter what you do tonight
I wanna run with you, I wanna run with you
Shooting to the stars, can’t get enough so far
You make me feel brand-new, never felt this true
Every laugh you’re giving, every touch I’m living
I can’t pull away, caught up in the play
Shall we dim the lights
Leave our fears behind
Play wrong ’til it’s right
Give it all”
Is this going to be a massive hit? Hmm, why not?
All in all, I’d say this is a good song with great vocals.
As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.tv):
– composition and originality of the song, 8 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 8 out of 10.
So the total is: 36 out of 40 points that is 90%.
Will Mamagama’s run lead them to victory? We’ll see if they will get the best result for Azerbaijan. To do that they would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Azerbaijan so far was the 1st place; it happened once: it was in 2011).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Mamagama! Congratulations, Azerbaijan! I assume this song will qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. Do you agree, Guys?
What do the bookmakers say about the Azerbaijani entry? Well, at this moment (19th April 2025) it’s in the 26th place (on eurovisionworld.com).
