I said: “Australia wins the ESC 2025. True or false?” Stay with me to the very end of this text and then my video to find out if this was possible.
Hello, Guys!
This is your EurovisionaryVoice calling! I present my reactions/comments here.
This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction to the song that will represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. This is “Milkshake Man” by Go-Jo (whose real name is Marty Zambotto).
Let’s watch the video:
Go-Jo – “Milkshake Man” – Australia 🇦🇺 | Eurovision Song Contest 2025 | Reaction
Well, frist things first. It’s synthpop.
This year’s Australian entry was chosen internally.
This year’s Australian song was composed by the party of four (including Go-Jo) and it’s sung in English.
What’s the song about?
“It’s a “motivational push” for the listener, encouraging them to discover “the most colourful version of themselves and feel confident”.
The song contains some lyrics in French, which Go-Jo said was included due to his French nationality. “Milkshake Man” samples “Greensleeves”, which is a chime commonly used by ice cream vans in various countries.”
“You can call me the milkshake man
I wanna shake and make the whole world dance
They drink my milk all across the land
I can tell you want a taste of the milkshake man”
Is this going to be a massive hit? Hmm, why not?
All in all, I’d say this is a good song with great vocals.
As each juror ranked all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I assigned points in the same categories (eurovision.tv):
– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.
So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95%.
My question was: “Will Go-Jo’s Milkshake Man lead him to victory?” To get the best result for Australia Go-Jo would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Australia so far was the 2nd place; it happened once: it was in 2016).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Go-Jo! Congratulations, Australia! I assumed this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depended on the other entries as well. Do you agree, Guys?
What did the bookmakers say about the Australian entry? Well, at that moment (29th April 2025) it was in the 20th place (on eurovisionworld.com).
Let’s hear it for Go-Jo and the whole team!
