Ireland’s chosen its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which takes place in Malmö, Sweden. It’s Bambie Thug, who’ll represent her country, which is taking part in the ESC for the 57th time.
The composition
The title of the song’s “Doomsday Blue” and was created by Bambie Ray Robinson, Olivia Cassy Brooking, Sam Matlock and Tyler Ryder. It’s sung in English.

The procedure
The Irish ESC representative was chosen by the international and national jury as well as the public. The Irish jury and the viewers placed Bambie Thug in first place whereas the international jury saw her in third position.
What do we know about Bambie Thug?
Bambie Thug, aka Bambie Ray Robinson, is a non-binary person born in 1994 in County Cork. Bambie’s family comes from Morocco. Since their debut in 2021, Bambie has been experimenting with various musical genres and has composed compositional collaborations with dozens of artists.
Bambie describes their own style as ouija-pop and often emphasizes their own creative independence. Bambie Thug treats participation in Eurovision as an opportunity to present a certain niche and introduce underrepresented social groups to a wider audience.
Eurovision Song Contest 2024
The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmö, Sweden on Tuesday, 7th May (the First Semi-final), Thursday, 9th May (the Second Semi-final) and Saturday, 11th May (the Grand Final) 2024.
