EurovisionaryVoice and KAJ and Nissan bromsa

KAJ – “Nissan bromsa” (LIVE) – Finland 🇫🇮 / Sweden 🇸🇪 | Reaction

I always start with the name of the country here, it was: “Sweden wins the ESC 2025. True or false? Stay with me to the very end of this video to find out if this is possible.

Now we know that although the bookmakers put Sweden in the 1st place KAJ didn’t win the ESC 2025 finishing 4th.

Hello, Guys! Hej, God morgon, God dag, hyvää huomenta, hyvää paivää.

This is your EurovisionaryVoice calling! I present my reactions/comments here.

This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction to the song performed by KAJ a Swedish-speaking Finnish music and comedy group, because I was asked by some followers of mine to do that having published my reaction video to the song that represented Sweden in this year’s Eurovision. By the way: back then I asked the question: “A lot of points from Finland?” and yes, the Finnish public gave 12 points to Sweden, but the jury – 10 points, giving 12 points to the winning song from Austria.

The song I’m reacting to is “Nessun Dorma” (in English: ‘Let no one sleep’) an aria from the final act of Italian composer Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot, popularized by Luciano Pavarotti in 1990s here in the Swedish version: “Nissan bromsa” as far as I know ‘bromsa’ is a brake and Nissan we know, don’t we?

Let’s watch the video:

Well, some claim it’s a bit wild. I’ve heard some crazy things about this track…

So, let’s find out what the hype is about.

Well, frist things first. Although it’s said to be a funny interpretation, it’s still a great cover, isn’t it?

The vocals are great, aren’t they?

The vocalist presents so much energy and performs with so much confidence, doesn’t he?

That delivery is fire 🔥. It’s catchy, maybe one can call it weird, but it’s definitely MEMORABLE. I don’t even know in general what it means, as I don’t speak Swedish, but I’m into that.

I used the online translator and I hope it’s correct as I didn’t find a translation online.

“Nissan brake, Nissan brake

Few people in a ditch to stop

Come and see, damn it

Called a tow truck

But everyone had a good night

In the ditch to stop

So called a tow truck to me

Can you come and get my car towed

No no, you can pull well with Renault

Yes, I understand, I’m burning

And I’m so lame so you both put it on

Hakkapelita (The Hakkapeliitta tires are known for their superior grip and handling in snowy and icy conditions.)

I drove my car into the ditch

Then I had to get time to pull and pull

Yes I checked, but I stayed where I was

So I pulled the winch instead but the winch went

The winch went, the winch went oooooooo”

Is this going to be a massive hit? Hmm, why not? Actually, it’s a massive hit, I believe that the majority of people know the original version. As for KAJ’s version, hmm, I’m sure it’s well-known both in Sweden and Finland. On YouTube the video has 1.5 million views.

Well, knownig that KAJ is a comedy group and analysing the lyrics we know it’s a funny approach, if not funny, a feel-good one.

When I’m looking at singer’s faces, well, I’m not speaking Swedish a bit confused, because they look fun and a bit funny but still they sound very well, don’t they. What voices!

He knows he’s not taking himself too seriously, and that’s what makes it work…

However, I assume there might be some viewers for whom this kind of approach to the original would be a kind of profanation. What do you think about that?

All in all, I’d say this is a good song with great vocals.

I will approach this performance form the ESC perspective so I will assign points in the ESC categories (eurovision.tv):

– composition and originality of the song,  well here it’s a cover so for the original it’s 10 out of 10, for the cover: 7/10;

– quality of the performance on stage, 8 out of 10;

– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;

– overall impression of the act, 8 out of 10.

So the total is: 33 out of 40 points that is 83%.

So, it’s not bad.

In the end, I can only say: Well done, KAJ!

Let’s hear it for KAJ and the whole team!
