This time I’m going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. This is “Før vi går hjem” (that is “Before We Go Home” in English) by Søren Torpegaard Lund.

Well, first things first.

This Danish entry was chosen both by the public and the jury > it came first both in the jury and public voting.

This year’s Danish song was created by Clara Sofie Fabricius, Søren Torpegaard Lund himself, Thomas Meilstrup, Valdemar Littauer Bendixen. It’s sung in Danish.

What’s the song about?

“My body is screaming

Can you hear it?

So out-of-control

Søren Torpegaard Lund is a Danish actor and singer.

A fun fact: In 2023, Søren participated in the Danish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 but did not finish among the top three entries.

Søren Torpegaard Lund delivers a very emotional and controlled vocal performance in “Før vi går hjem” (“Before We Go Home”). His voice has a warm and soft tone that fits the intimate mood of the song. He sings with great sensitivity, especially in the quieter verses, where you can hear the vulnerability in his voice.

In the chorus, he adds more power without shouting, keeping the performance elegant and honest. His breath control is solid, and he moves smoothly between soft and stronger moments. Overall, the vocal feels authentic, heartfelt, and technically stable, which makes the song even more touching.

Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first let’s ask a question: Is this song going to make it to the Grand Final?

All in all, I’d say this is a very good song with great vocals.

As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.com):

– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;

– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;

– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;

– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.

So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95%.

Will Søren Torpegaard Lund “Going Home” lead him to victory? We’ll see if he will get the best result for Denmark. To do that he would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Denmark so far was the 1^st place; it happened thrice: it was in 1963, 2000 & 2013).

In the end, I can only say: Well done, Søren! Congratulations, Denmark! I assume this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. What do you tink, Guys?

What do the bookmakers say about the Danish entry? Well, at this moment (27^th February 2026) Denmark is in 3^rd/35 place (eurovisionworld.com).
