This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction to the song that will represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. This is “What the Hell Just Happened?” by a girl band Remember Monday. And it’s the first girl band that represents the UK since 1999.

Well, frist things first. It’s country pop.
This year’s UK’s entry was chosen internally.
This year’s British song was composed by a party of eight (including band’s members) and it’s sung in English.
What’s the song about?
Remember Monday described the song as “presenting a “quite autobiographical” account of friendship and post-night-out disorientation” and that “it reflects their shared experiences of emotional support during difficult moments.” “‘What The Hell Just Happened’ is exactly how we’re feeling right now! It’s all very surreal; our friendship goes so far back, and we definitely never imagined that we’d be doing anything like this.”

Is this going to be a massive hit? Hmm, why not?
All in all, I’d say this is a good song with great vocals.
As each juror ranked all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I assigned points in the same categories (eurovision.tv):
– composition and originality of the song, 7 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 7 out of 10.
So the total is: 34 out of 40 points that is 85%.
I alsko asked a question: “Will Remember Monday’s Hell lead them to victory?” To get the best result for the United Kingdom they would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for the UK so far was the 1st place; it happened five times: it was in 1967, 1969, 1976, 1981 and 1997).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Remember Monday! Congratulations, UK! This song appeared in the Grand Final because they belong to the so-called “Big Five”.
What did the bookmakers say about the UK’s entry? Well, at that moment (3rd May 2025) it was in the 14th place (on eurovisionworld.com).
