This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction on the song that will represent Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. This is “Strobe Lights” by Red Sebastian whose real name’s Seppe Guido Yvonne Herreman.

This year’s Belgian entry was chosen both by the public and jury and won in both categories.
This year’s Belgian song was composed by a team of four and one of them was Sebastian and it’s sung in English.
It’s a techno song, described by Sebastian himself as “a fun and flashing night out”. And what’s the song about?
“Strobe lights
Gettin’ lost in your eyes
Cotton candy haze
We’re floatin’ ’round in space”
Is this going to be a massive hit? Hmm, why not?
All in all, I’d say this is a good song with great vocals.
As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.tv):
– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 9 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.
So the total is: 37 out of 40 points that is 93%.
Will Red Sebastian’s lights lead him to victory? We’ll see if he will get the best result for Belgium. To do that he would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Belgium so far has been the 1st place; it happened once: it was in 1986).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Red Sebastian! Congratulations, Belgium! I assume this song will qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. Do you agree, Guys?
What do the bookmakers say about the Belgian entry? Well, at this moment (12th April 2025) it’s in the 7th place (on eurovisionworld.com).
