Norway wins the ESC 2026. True or false? Stay with me to the very end of this text to find out if this is possible at all. And if you read the text till the end, youโll be able to hear my song โIโm Choosing a New Eraโ that I submitted to the Polish Preselection for the ESC 2026.
Hello, Guys!
This is your EurovisionaryVoice calling! My nameโs Janusz Jacek Siwiorek JJS. I present my reactions here.
This time Iโm going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. This is โYa Ya Yaโ by Jonas Lovv.
Letโs watch the video:
Jonas Lovv โ โYa Ya Yaโ (LIVE) โ Norway ๐ณ๐ด | Eurovision 2026 | Reaction
Well, first things first.
The Norwegian entry was chosen both by the public (60%) and the international jury (40%) > it came first both in the public voting and the jury vote.
This yearโs Norwegian song was created by Jonas Lovv Hellesรธy himself and Sondre Skaftun. Itโs sung in English.
What genre is that? Pop (with rock/alternative influences).
Whatโs the song about?
โPretty little liar, put your makeup on, ya ya ya ya
Bang, bang, like you want it
Like you know I’m gonna love it
Bang, bang, goes that broken heart
Bleeding right all over me till I fall apart
Ay ay ay, ay ay ay
I got some broken boneั
Ay ay ay, ay ay ayโ
We might say the song is about a passionate but destructive relationship where emotions take over.
Jonas Lovv is a Norwegian singer and songwriter.
A fun fact: He btook part in the Nowegian version of The Voice reaching the semi-final.
The vocals are raw and expressive, not overly polished. Jonas Lovv uses a slightly rough, edgy tone, which fits the emotional and chaotic theme of the song.
He switches between controlled singing and more shouted/strained moments, giving a sense of intensity and lack of control. The repetition in the chorus (โya ya yaโ) is catchy and rhythmic, focusing more on energy than vocal complexity.
Overall:
The vocals are about emotion and attitude rather than perfect technique, creating a powerful and slightly wild feeling.
Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first letโs ask a question: Is this song going to make it to the Grand Final?
All in all, Iโd say this is a very good song with great vocals.
As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.com):
– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.
So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95%.
Will Jonasโs โYa Ya Yaโ lead him to victory? Weโll see if he will get the best result for Norway. To do that he would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Norway so far was the 1st place; it happened thrice: it was in 1985, 1995 and 2009).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Jonas Lovv! Congratulations, Norway! I assume this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. What do you think, Guys?
What do the bookmakers say about the Norwegian entry? Well, at this moment (17th March 2026) Norway is in 17th/35 place (eurovisionworld.com).
Letโs hear it for Lion and the whole team!
