Bulgaria wins the ESC 2026. True or false? Stay with me to the very end of this text to find out if this is possible at all. And if you watch the video till the end, youโ€™ll be able to hear my song โ€œIโ€™m Choosing a New Eraโ€ that I submitted to the Polish Preselection for the ESC 2026.

Hello, Guys!

This is your EurovisionaryVoice calling! My nameโ€™s Janusz Jacek Siwiorek JJS. I present my reactions here.

This time Iโ€™m going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. Bulgaria is back after a four-year break. This is โ€œBangarangaโ€ by Dara whose real nameโ€™s Darina Nikolaeva Yotova.

Letโ€™s watch the video:

Well, frist things first.

This Bulgarian entry was chosen both by the public and the jury > it came first both in the jury vote and the public voting.

This yearโ€™s Bulgarian song was created by Anne Judith Wik, Cristian Tarcea, Darina Yotova and Dimitris Kontopoulos. Itโ€™s sung in English.

What genre is that? Itโ€™s a modern pop song made for dancing, with a slightly edgy, darker sound.

Whatโ€™s the song about?

โ€œI’m an angel, I’m a demon, I’m a psycho for no reason

I’m a mover, I’m a teaser, I don’t follow, I’m the leader

Let me hype you, hype you up, let me hype you up, I’ma, I’ma

Let you get the hook, I’ma leave you shook

All my life

Surrendered to the blindin’ lights

No one’s gonna sleep tonight

Welcome to the riot

(I’m the bangaran) Bangaranga, bangaranga, bangaranga

(I’m the bangaran) Bangaranga, bangaranga, bangaranga

(I’m the bangaran) Blindin’ lights

Welcome to the riot

(I, I, I, I) I’m the bangaranโ€

So, we might say: The song โ€œBangarangaโ€ is about confidence, fun, and enjoying the moment. It gives a feeling of freedom and not caring what others think. The lyrics focus on energy, attitude, and celebrating yourself. Overall, itโ€™s about letting go, having fun, and feeling powerful on the dance floor.

Dara is a singer. In 2015 she reached the final of The X Factor finishing third. In 2020 she took part in the Bulgarian version of Your Face Sounds Familiar finishing third as well. She was also a coach in The Voice of Bulgaria.

A fun fact: She also participated in Dancing Stars finishing second.

Daraโ€™s vocals are strong and full of attitude. Dara sings with confidence and a playful tone, which matches the energy of the song. Her voice sounds clear and controlled, even in more dynamic parts. In the chorus, she uses a catchy and slightly repetitive style that makes it easy to remember. Overall, her vocal delivery is expressive, bold, and fits the party vibe perfectly.

Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first letโ€™s ask a question: Is this song going to make it to the Grand Final?

All in all, Iโ€™d say this is a very good song with great vocals.

As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.com):

– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;

– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;

– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;

– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.

So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95 %.

Will Daraโ€™s โ€œBangarangaโ€ lead her to victory? Weโ€™ll see if she will get the best result for Bulgaria. To do that she would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Bulgaria so far has been the 2nd place; it happened once: it was in 2017).

In the end, I can only say: Well done, Dara! Congratulations, Bulgaria! I assume this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. What do you think, Guys?

What do the bookmakers say about the Bulgarian entry? Well, at this moment (17th March 2026) Bulgaria is in 13th place (eurovisionworld.com).

Letโ€™s hear it for Dara and the whole team!
