This time I’m going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. This is “Eclipse” by Delta Goodrem.

Well, first things first.

The Australian entry was chosen internally.

This year’s Australian song was created by Delta Goodrem herself, Ferras Alqaisi, Jonas Myrin, Michael Fatkin. It’s sung in English.

What genre is that? Pop ballad (with cinematic / orchestral elements).

What’s the song about?

“One touch, one kiss

All my life for a night like this

The world stops for us

Only love exists

When we eclipse, when we eclipse

When we eclipse, when we eclipse”

We might say the song is about going through emotional darkness in love and finding your strength and light again.

Delta Goodrem is an Australian singer, songwriter and a TV personality based in Sydney .

A fun fact: Delta signed a recording contract with Sony Music at the age of 15. Goodrem called her selection “a celebration” and Delta cited previous Eurovision performers Celine Dion and Olivia Newton-John as her influences.

Delta’s live vocals are technically strong and very controlled, with a rich tone. It’s not only clean singing — she adds emotion, phrasing, and slight vocal breaks to sell the story.

Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first let’s ask a question: Is this song going to make it to the Grand Final?

All in all, I’d say this is a very good song with great vocals.

As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.com):

– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;

– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;

– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;

– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.

So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95%.

Will Delta’s “Eclipse” lead her to victory? We’ll see if she will get the best result for Australia. To do that she would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Australia so far was the 2^nd place; it happened once: it was in 2016).

In the end, I can only say: Well done, Delta! Congratulations, Australia! I assume this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. What do you think, Guys?

What do the bookmakers say about the Australian entry? Well, at this moment (22^nd March 2026) Australia is in 5^th/35 place.
