Have you seen the Albanian National Selection 2023 winning performance? If yes, in the video above I share with you my comments, and tell me if you agree and have the same opinion or you disagree; so stay with me to the end of this video. If you didn’t see that performance, stay with me as well because you can find out how Albina and Familja Kelmendi perform live.

Hello, Guys!

This is your EurovisionaryVoice calling! I’ve been following the Eurovision Song Contest since 1993 and I have become if not an expert ?, at least a person who is well versed in Eurovision. On my channel I present my reactions/comments and I hope you will get interested in that and you will also present your comments having watched my videos.

This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction and give my well-thought-out comment on the song that will represent Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

Is this entry going to be successful? Is it going to be a winning song? Let’s find out.

The song was chosen during Festivali i Këngës 61 which was won by another song but the entry for the ESC 2023 was chosen separately by the public alone.

There are six artists performing on stage due to the ESC rules but this artistic family is said to be much bigger than we can see perform here.

A very strong I’d say Balkan intro. Strong voice. Sth we are acusstomed to as for the majority of the Albanian entries – as for some parts of the song and melody a little bit similar to last year’s Albanian pro’posal. The voice and melody are so moving.

Then more voices appear all in Albanian.

The chorus is quite nice where Albina with the family are singing.

We have here the Orchestra and the guitar – interesting combination. Balkan vibe with a mixture of rock in the background.

Great vocals. Supported by a great orchestra – this brings additional power to the whole performance and we know that in Liverpool  there won’t be a live orchestra due to the rules.

But for me the song is a bit chaotic in stanzas.

Maybe if you understand Albanian and you are from that country you feel the song better and more.

The song is said to be finally revamped for Liverpool but kept in Albanian and still talking about family relationships.

Let’s remember that this year in semi-finals it is only the public that decides which country will make it to the final, will it work to Albania’s advantage? We’ll see.

Leave a comment and tell me if you like the song.

We’ll see if  Albina and Familja Kelmendi will get the best result for Albania. To do that they would have to finish fourth (as the best result so far has been the fifth place in 2012 by Rona Nishliu and her great song “Suus”).

In the end, I can only say: Well done, Albina and the Family ! Congratulations, Albania! I assume this song might be high in the jury ranking in the final. As for the public – I don’t know.

As promised, I’ll tell you now what the ‘bookmakers say about the Albanian entry. At this moment it’s said to be the last song but actually we don’t know other songs except for the Ukrainian entry which is placed first (1st January 2023).

Let’s hear it for Albina and the Family and the whole team!

Let me know what you think of this performance in the comments below. I encourage you to watch my previous videos about the Eurovision Song Contest, where I comment on rehearsals and final performances.
