This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction on the song that will represent Czechia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. This is “Kiss Kiss Goodbye” by Adonxs whose real name is Adam Pavlovčin (and he’s actually from Slovakia).

Well, frist things first.
This year’s Czech entry was chosen internally, however, there were some stages of this process (indlcuding the international jury) and in all of them the winner was Adonxs. And it’s sung in English.
This year’s song was created by Adam Pavlovčin himself, Adriano Lopes da Silva, George Masters-Clark, Ines Coulon, Lorenzo Calvo, Michaela Charvátová, Ronald Janeček.
What’s the song about?
“Blow me a kiss goodbye, no more tears to dry
One kiss of love, one kiss of desperation
In a moment two of us collide
There’s no other place to hide
Only one survives, when the night arrives
Will you be my ride or die?”
Chorus:
“Kiss, kiss goodbye (Kiss, kiss goodbye)
Kiss, kiss goodbye (Kiss, kiss goodbye)
Now keep your half apologies, drunken apathy

Is this going to be a massive hit? Hmm, why not?
All in all, I’d say this is a good song with great vocals.
As each juror ranked all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I assigned points in the same categories (eurovision.tv):
– composition and originality of the song, 7 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage 9 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 8 out of 10.
So the total is: 34 out of 40 points that is 85%.
The question was: “Will Adonxs’s Kiss lead him to victory?” To get the best result for the Czech Republic he would have to finish at least 5th (as the best result for Czechia so far has been the 6th place; it was in 2018).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Adonxs! Congratulations, Czechia! I assumed this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depended on the other entries as well. Do you agree, Guys?
What did the bookmakers say about the Czech entry? Well, at that moment (16th March 2025) it was in the 15th place (on eurovisionworld.com).
