This is your EurovisionaryVoice calling! My name’s Janusz Jacek Siwiorek (JJS). I present my reactions here.
This time I’m going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. This is “Nân” (that is translated as “Mother” in English) by Alis.

This Albanian entry was chosen both by the public and the jury (50/50 > it came first both in the jury and public voting (that was actually televoting).
This year’s Albanian song was created by by Alis himself alongside Desara Gjini, with production by Erjet Barbullushi. It’s sung in Albanian, however, we know that sometimes Albania changes the lyrics into English.
What’s the song about?
Alis claimed that the song had come from a dream, in which a voice had told him: “Goodbye, Mother”. He describes the song as “a ballad for awaiting mothers, for children who leave, and for the eternal love, beyond time and distance”.
“Know that your mother is waiting for you
And that your mother is sending you off
Your mother stays standing there in the doorway
Two weeks, two years, this summer is gone”
And actually, who is Alis? Alis’s full name’s Alis Kallaçi. And he’s a singer and songwriter. He also won the fifth season of the Albanian X Factor.
Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first let’s ask a question: Is this song going to make it to the Grand Final?
All in all, I’d say this is a very good song with great vocals.
As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.tv):
– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 9 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer, 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 8 out of 10.
So the total is: 36 out of 40 points that is 90%.
Will Alis’s “Mother” lead him to victory? We’ll see if he will get the best result for Albania. To do that he would have to finish at least 4th (as the best result for Albania so far has been the 5th place; it was in 2012).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Alis! Congratulations, Albania! I assume this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. What do you tink, Guys?
What do the bookmakers say about the Albanian entry? Well, at this moment (22nd December 2025) it’s one of the two songs so there is no official ranking, however, there are still a lot of songs to be presented.
