This time I’m going to show you my honest reaction on the song that represented Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. This is “Zjerm” (that is translated as “Fire” in English) by Shkodra Elektronike.

Well, frist things first.
This Albanian entry was chosen both by the public and the jury (it came first in the jury voting and public voting via text messages. However, in the international online voting they came second).
This year’s song was created by Beatriçe Gjergji, Kolë Laca, Lekë Gjeloshi. It’s sung in Albanian, however, we know that sometimes Albania changes the lyrics into English (as it was last year for example). In the end we know it wasn’t changed.
What’s the song about?
It’s described by Gjergji as a “personal work with lyrics exploring human compassion” being “an Albanian song with a modern touch.”

Fall upon our tribal dances
That echo as loud as the avalanche when it falls upon mountains
Fire”
In a way it’s about some kind of spiritual and social healing, dignity of all people, even those forgotten or excluded ones.
Is this going to be a massive hit? Hmm, first I asked a question: “Is it going to make it to the Grand Final?”
All in all, I’d say this is a good song with great vocals.
As each juror ranked all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I assigned points in the same categories (eurovision.tv):
– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 7 out of 10.
So the total is: 36 out of 40 points that is 90%.
My question was: “Will Shkodra Elektronike’s Fire lead her to victory?” To get the best result for Albania they would have to finish at least 4th (as the best result for Albania so far has been the 5th place; it was in 2012).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Shkodra Elektronike! Congratulations, Albania! I assumed this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depended on the other entries as well. Do you agree, Guys?
What did the bookmakers say about the Albanian entry? Well, at that moment (11th March 2025) it was in the 18th place (on eurovisionworld.com), however, there were still some ESC 2025 songs to be presented.
