This time I’m going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. This is “Viva, Moldova” by Satoshi (Vlad Sabajuc).

Well, frist things first.

This Moldovan entry was chosen both by the public (33%) and the jury (Moldovan 33% and international 33%)> it came first both in the jury vote and in the public voting.

This year’s Moldavian song was created by Satoshi himself. It’s sung in a combination of languages.

What’s the song about?

“Viva Moldova, aloha

Adio, vida loca

Soroca, Europa

Palma de Mallorca

Salute a tutti

Moldova is on duty

E una e nova

Republica Moldova”

Satoshi studied at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts.

Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first let’s ask a question: Is this song going to make it to the Grand Final?

Satoshi’s voice is energetic and rhythmic.

It’s pop. We have rhythmic singing and spoken phrasing — which fits the upbeat, anthem-like nature of the song.

Because the song structure is repetitive, much of the vocal line lies in a middle register where most singers are comfortable, which helps maintain consistency.

It’s definitely confident and engaging.

All in all, I’d say this is a very good song with great vocals.

As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.com):

– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;

– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;

– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;

– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.

So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95%.

Will Satoshi’s “Viva, Moldova” lead him to victory? We’ll see if he will get the best result for Moldova. To do that he would have to finish at least 2nd (as the best result for Moldova so far has been the 3rd place; it happened in 2017).

In the end, I can only say: Well done, Satoshi! Congratulations, Moldova! I assume this song will qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. What do you tink, Guys?

What do the bookmakers say about the Moldovan entry? Well, at this moment (18^th January 2026) it’s in 20^th position (out of 35 contestants (eurovisionworld.com).
