Finland wins the ESC 2026. True or false? Stay with me to the very end of this text to find out if this is possible at all. And if you watch the text till the end, youโll be able to hear my song โIโm Choosing a New Eraโ that I submitted to the Polish Preselection for the ESC 2026.
Hello, Guys!
This is your EurovisionaryVoice calling! My nameโs Janusz Jacek Siwiorek JJS. I present my reactions here.
This time Iโm going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. This is โLiekinheitinโ (that is โFlamethrowerโ in English) by Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen.
Letโs watch the video:
Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen โ โLiekinheitinโ (LIVE) โ Finland ๐ซ๐ฎ | Eurovision 2026 | Reaction
Well, first things first.
This Finnish entry was chosen both by the international jury (25%) and the public (75%) > it came first both in the jury and public voting.
This yearโs Finnish song was created by Antti Riihimรคki, Lauri Halavaara, Linda Lampenius, Pete Parkkonen, Vilma Alina Lรคhteenmรคki. Itโs sung in Finnish.
What genre is that? Pop-rock.
Whatโs the song about?
โIt would be wiser to leave
But I still play with fire
How could I freeze the feelings
When you’re a flamethrower
You make me burn
I only get a piece of you
You’re so hot but ice cold
You are, you are
(A flamethrower)
(A flamethrower)โ
The song is about a love that burns very strongly, like fire. The singers describe powerful feelings and emotions that cannot be controlled. The โflamethrowerโ is a metaphor for this intense passion.
Thematically, the song explores the idea of a “fiery yet frozen” relationship. Linda described the lyrics as being about a person who is “burning hot but suddenly turns ice cold”. Pete further added that the song represents a dialogue between two perspectives: the one trying to get close and the one who does not dare let go. This duality is reflected in the instrumentation, where the violin and vocals are intended to “speak” to one another.
Linda Lampenius whose full nameโs Linda Magdalena Cullberg Lampenius, also known by her international stage name Linda Brava, is a Finnish and Swedish classical concert violinist.
Pete Eemeli Parkkonen is a Finnish singer
A fun fact: Linda was born in Finland into a Swedish-speaking Finnish family, she is a dual citizen of Finland and Sweden and is escribed as one of the most versatile and accomplished players of her generation. Brava has performed pop, rock, folk, techno, film, jazz, and world music, among others.
The vocals in this song are powerful and dramatic. Pete Parkkonen sings with a strong rock voice and a lot of emotion, especially in the chorus. Linda Lampenius adds intensity with her violin, which almost feels like another voice in the song. The combination of the powerful singing and the expressive violin makes the performance very energetic and theatrical.
Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first letโs ask a question: Is this song going to make it to the Grand Final?
All in all, Iโd say this is a very good song with great vocals.
As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.com):
– composition and originality of the song, 9 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 9 out of 10.
So the total is: 38 out of 40 points that is 95%.
Will Linda and Peteโs โFlamethrowerโ lead them to victory? Weโll see if they will get the best result for Finland. To do that they would have to win the whole Contest (as the best result for Finland so far was the 1st place; it happened once: it was in 2006).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Linda & Pete! Congratulations, Finland! I assume this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. What do you think, Guys?
What do the bookmakers say about the Finnish entry? Well, at this moment (8th March 2026) Finland is in 1st/35 place (eurovisionworld.com).
Letโs hear it for Linda & Pete and the whole team!
