Montenegro wins the ESC 2026. True or false? Stay with me to the very end of this text to find out if this is possible at all. And if you read the text till the end, you’ll be able to hear my song “I’m Choosing a New Era” that I submitted to the Polish Preselection for the ESC 2026.
This is your EurovisionaryVoice calling! My name’s Janusz Jacek Siwiorek (JJS). I present my reactions here.
This time I’m going to show you my most sincere reaction to the song that will represent Montenegro in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. This is “Nova zora” (“Нова зора”) (that is translated as “New Dawn” in English) by Tamara Živković (Тамара Живковић).

Well, frist things first.
This Montenegrin entry was chosen both by the public (50%) and the jury (Montenegrin (25%) and international (25%)) > it came first in the jury vote and second in the public voting.
This year’s Montenegrin song was created by Boris Subotić. It’s sung in Montenegrin.
What’s the song about?
“The rain goes on, the rain goes on, the sky is giving me a sign
It thunders and flashes, it thunders and flashes, destiny is changing
O-oh, o-o-oh, o-o-oh
Behind the mountains, behind the seas, a new dawn is born
(A new dawn)”
“Who do you think you are to tell me who I am?
Will I come or go? I have already left
Everything that leads to you, I have demolished
Despite your poisons, the Sun breaks through
And a new dawn shines”
Tamara Živković is a singer and flutist. She was a finalist in the fifteenth edition of the Serbian singing competition show Zvezde Granda in 2022. Tamara competed in Montesong 2024, Montenegro’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 finishing 9th.
Is this going to be a banger? Hmm, first let’s ask a question: Is this song going to make it to the Grand Final?
All in all, I’d say this is a very good song with great vocals.
As each juror is going to rank all the competing songs in each show based on the given criteria, I will assign points in the same categories (eurovision.com):
– composition and originality of the song, 8 out of 10;
– quality of the performance on stage, 10 out of 10;
– vocal capacity of the performer(s), 10 out of 10;
– overall impression of the act, 8 out of 10.
So the total is: 36 out of 40 points that is 90%.
Will Tamara’s “New Dawn” lead her to victory? We’ll see if she will get the best result for Montenegro. To do that she would have finish at least 12th (as the best result for Montenegro so far has been the 13th place; it was in 2015).
In the end, I can only say: Well done, Tamara! Congratulations, Montenegro! I assume this song might qualify for the Grand Final but of course it depends on the other entries as well. What do you tink, Guys?
What do the bookmakers say about the Montenegrin entry? Well, at this moment (28th December 2025) it’s one of the two songs so there is no official ranking.
