Cyprus has chosen its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which takes place in Malmö, Sweden. It’s Silia Kapsis.
What do we know about Silia?
Silia is a Cypriot and Greek singer. She was born and grew up in Sydney, Australia. Silia has become quite popular in Australia being, among others, a lead singer for the Australian Youth Performing Arts Company (AYPAC).
Silia Kapsis released a debut song “Who Am I?” in 2022, which she’d created at the age of twelve. The next singles: “No Boys Allowed” and “Disco Dancer” appeared in 2023.
Silia can also be described as a dancer, for example she was featured in a dance documentary produced by Taboo from the Black-Eyed Peas. She also tried some acting – she played the lead role, Zoe, in her debut short film Pearly Gates.
The official premiere of Cyprus‘s song for Eurovision 2024 is said to take place in due course.
Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest
Cyprus holds the unfortunate record in the greatest number of times participating in the Eurovision Song Contest without a single win. They achieved their best place in 2018 when Eleni Foureira finished second with her “Fuego”.

The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmö, Sweden on Tuesday, 7th May (the First Semi-final), Thursday, 9th May (the Second Semi-final) and Saturday, 11th May (the Grand Final) 2024.
